Transportation

Planes, trains and automobiles.  And bikes.  The Crossing at Ballston offers residents easy access to I-66 and is less than 15 minutes to National Airport and the National Mall.  Located less than a half-mile away, Ballston Metro Station (Orange, Silver Lines) is within walking distance.  You’ll also enjoy miles of bike trails starting with the Bluemont Junction Trail right outside your door.  Need a bike?  Capital Bikeshare is right there too.

Shopping

Ballston Common Mall, a four level enclosed shopping mall at the corner of Glebe Road and Wilson Boulevard, is just short walk from The Crossing at Ballston.  Redevelopment plans for this shopping destination are currently underway. Rebranded as Ballston Quarter, the mall will feature an open-air shopping plaza with a vibrant mix of stores, restaurants and entertainment venues. Until then, enjoy the various retail amenities available including Macy’s, Regal Cinemas, Sport & Health Club and CVS.

Events & Activities

The Crossing at Ballston gives you direct access to the many events and activities this neighborhood has to offer.  Check out the Annual Taste of Arlington, the largest food+beer+music+arts festival attracting over 40,000 food lovers from all over the region.  Sports Fan?  Ballston is also home to the Washington Capitals state-of-the-art practice facility, the Kettler Capitals Iceplex, which is open for anyone to use.  Watching the Caps practice is a Ballston tradition that you don’t want to miss.  For more events and activities visit Ballston BID's event calendar.
